Spring Manufacturing Capabilities

Since 1984, Tricor Industries, Inc. has been a leading manufacturer of custom precision springs, wire forms, and flat springs. We serve a diverse cross-section of industries, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), defense, aerospace, and government installations and suppliers. Our decades of experience, skilled engineers, and advanced manufacturing techniques enable us to deliver high-performing components on budget and on time—whether you require a single prototype, an emergency run, or high-volume mass production.

Our Manufacturing Core

We work with wire diameters ranging from .010″ to .625″, available in round, square, and rectangular wire or strip profiles. We specialize in engineering solutions tailored to your exact application requirements, space constraints, and environmental factors.

Precision Spring Offerings

Spring Type Core Function & Features Common Configurations / End Types
Compression Springs Helical springs designed to resist linear compressive forces and store energy. Plain, Plain & Ground, Squared, Squared & Ground ends.
Extension Springs Helical springs designed to absorb/store energy by resisting pulling forces; feature precise initial tension. Machine loops, Cross-Over loops, Side loops, Threaded inserts, Hooks, Rectangular ends.
Torsion Springs Helical springs designed to exert torque or rotational force around an axis; experience inner diameter reduction under deflection. Straight, Bent, Hooked, or specially formed legs; Left-hand or Right-hand wind direction.
Die Springs Robust, heavy-duty compression springs wound from rectangular wire to provide maximum load capacity in limited spaces. Light, Medium, Heavy, and Extra Heavy load ratings (Standardized ISO/Raymond color-coding).
Flat Springs Stamped or formed flat-stock components engineered for high-performance durability, electrical conductivity, or tight space constraints. Precision clips, clamps, brackets, and electrical contacts.
Other Custom Profiles Specialized geometries built to unique mechanical designs. Coil springs, Conical springs, Helical springs, and Custom wire forms.

Material Mastery

Choosing the right material is critical to a spring’s function, fatigue life, and environmental resilience. Tricor processes a vast spectrum of standard wires and high-performance alloys to withstand extreme temperatures, dynamic loads, and corrosive environments.

Standard Spring Wires

  • Music Wire (ASTM A228): High tensile strength and excellent elasticity for general-purpose applications.
  • Hard Drawn Wire (ASTM A227): Cost-effective option for reliable, less demanding applications.
  • Oil Tempered Wire (ASTM A229): Enhanced fatigue resistance and strength for high-stress, dynamic applications.
  • Chrome Silicon: Exceptional tensile strength; engineered to withstand extreme shock loads and high operating temperatures (ideal for Die Springs).

Stainless Steels & Non-Ferrous Metals

  • Stainless Steel (ASTM A313 / T-301, 302, 304, 316): Superior corrosion resistance. Grade 316 provides enhanced protection against chlorides.
  • 17-7PH Stainless Steel: Precipitation-hardened for an exceptional combination of high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance.
  • Non-Ferrous Materials: Beryllium copper, brass, and phosphorus bronze for high electrical/thermal conductivity and non-magnetic applications.

High-Performance & Superalloys

  • Inconel X-750 & Inconel 718®: Nickel-based superalloys offering extreme resistance to corrosion and high temperatures (common in chemical processing and aerospace).
  • Elgiloy®: A nickel-chromium-cobalt alloy celebrated for high stress-rupture strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
  • Titanium: Superior strength-to-weight ratio and exceptional corrosion resistance for marine and medical environments.

How to Specify Your Component (For First-Time Buyers)

To help our engineering team deliver the perfect component for your application, consider the following specifications when requesting a quote:

Specification Checklist

  • Dimensional Constraints: Envelope size, space limits, hole/pocket diameter, or rod/guide shaft diameter.
  • Force Requirements: Load/deflection range, torque, angular deflection, or specific initial tension.
  • Operating Environment: Peak operating temperatures, exposure to chemicals/moisture, and magnetic limitations.
  • Cycle Life: Estimated frequency of operation (static vs. dynamic/high-fatigue applications).
  • Interface Connections: Preferred end configurations (e.g., ground ends, specific loop styles, or leg geometries) for stable installation.
